Headed down to the beautiful Dunedin Railway Station to catch the train at 9.30.
All aboard… off to Middlemarch.
The Wingatui Viaduct: one of the largest wrought iron structures in the southern hemisphere.
One of the 12 tunnels you go through on the way to Middlemarch.
Mike enjoying the views. Carriages are very comfortable & heated so a great thing to do even if the weather isn’t the best. Food & coffee available on the train or bring your own.
Arrived at Middlemarch around 12noon. Spent an hour wandering around visiting cafes, crafts & even a horse & cart ride you could take around the township.
Arrived back in Dunedin at 3.30pm. A relaxing way to spend the day!
